BLADE Reboot Loses Another Director
We live in a constantly shifting and changing world. One where change is so constant that we almost expect it, even if it has traditionally signaled not great news. Such is the case for Marvel’s Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali which is one again hit with a delay due to talent leaving. This time, it is the second director Yann Demange. The story broke at Variety, with an excerpt below:
“Insiders say Demange departed the film amicably weeks ago, as development on the project has stretched over multiple years. Screenwriter Eric Pearson, who co-wrote “The Fantastic Four” for Marvel, is the latest scribe to take on the “Blade” script, after at least five other writers have taken passes on the film, including Michael Green, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Michael Starrbury, Beau DeMayo and Nic Pizzolatto.”
It’s a good sign that the director departed amicably, but this does put the release date for “Blade” at risk since production hasn’t even started yet. We hope to bring you more updates as they become available!
