Long before we had multiple members of the Cronenberg family in the entertainment industry, David Cronenberg was shocking audiences with his unique brand of Canadian Body Horror that is as relevant and impactful today as it was then. One of his first major productions is the 1975 STD-riddled parasitic horror film, Shivers. Not only is this one of Cronenberg’s earliest films, but it also sets a foundation for themes that the filmmaker would revisit across his vast and diverse portfolio.
