Disney+ Rebooting GOOSEBUMPS Live Action TV Series!
After two fairly successful films, a new live action TV Series centered on R.L. Stines classic Goosebumps books, is getting coming to Disney+, Macabredaily has learned.
Variety reports this afternoon that Disney+ has given the green light to the new live action Goosebumps series, giving the show a 10-episode series order this week.
It sounds like the series will have a similar storyline to 2015’s hit movie, which adapted many of Stine’s iconic books in one fell swoop. Here’s the project’s plot synopsis…
“The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together – thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries, and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.”
Rob Letterman, who directed the 2015 Goosebumps movie, will be directing the first episode of the Disney+ series. He’s also on board to write and executive produce.
Nick Stoller will also write and executive produce the Goosebumps TV series.
“Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Conor Welch of Stoller Global Solutions, and Lole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman of Scholastic Entertainment are also executive producing. Sony Pictures Television Studios will produce.”
