Get Your First Look At 'KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES' Arriving In 2024!

In the wake of the last trilogy we were given by Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves, which started with Rise of the Planet of the Apes in 2011 and came to end with 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Studios has officially announced Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes this week. We’re being told this film will take place “many years after” the events in War.

The new movie starts production next month and stars Owen Teague, Freya Allen, and Peter Macon, with Wes Ball (director of all three Maze Runner films) on board to direct.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will release in theaters in 2024.

Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison wrote the script.

Planet of the Apes is one of the most iconic and storied science fiction franchises in film history, as well as being an indelible part of our studio’s legacy. With Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes we are privileged to continue the series’ tradition of imaginative, thought-provoking cinema, and can’t wait to share Wes’ extraordinary vision for this new chapter with audiences in 2024,” said Steve Asbell, President of 20th Century Studios.
