Kat Conner Sterling Joins Blumhouse's 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S'

Kat Conner Sterling (Marvel's The Gifted) will join Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson in Blumhouse's upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's, Deadline have reported today.

Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon) is directing from a screenplay by Scott Cawthon (creator of the original Five Nights at Freddy's video game franchise) and Seth Cuddeback. Cawthon and Jason Blum will produce the film, with Beatriz Sequeira and Russell Binder as EPs.

Deadline reminds us that:

Five Nights at Freddy’s follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will be working alongside Blumhouse to bring Freddy Fazbear and his violent animatronic friends to life.

Sterling began performing at just ten years old, and her acting credits include Fox’s 9-1-1, Fox’s The Resident and Blu Fox Entertainment’s upcoming Popular Theory. In a tweet, Sterling revealed that she'll be playing a character called 'Max', which could be a new character created just for the adaptation, or perhaps a code name for a character already established in the vast FNaF universe.

Five Nights has been in the works for a long time and Lillard revealed that the film has a three picture deal and could be the next Blumhouse hit for awhile if the franchise is a hit.

Filming started on the first Five Nights at Freddy's last month in New Orleans, so hopefully it's not too long before we get more updates.
