Lidya Jewett Joins The Cast OF David Gordon Green's 'THE EXORCIST' Reboot
Production has resumed on David Gordon Green’s reboot of ‘THE EXORCIST’ and Deadline reports this morning that Lidya Jewett (Netflix’s Nightbooks) is the latest actor to join the cast.
Gordon Green is doing what he does best, taking a beloved franchise and expanding on the first film of said franchise and negating everything else. He did it for Halloween and now it’s The Exorcist’s turn. He will be doing three films in total for this new reboot we have learned.
The first film in the trilogy will be released theatrically on October 13, 2023, with Leslie Odom Jr. starring alongside Ellen Burstyn, who will be reprising her role as Chris MacNeil from the original 1973 movie.
The first plot details we were provided with last year tease, “Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”
Ann Dowd (Hereditary) is also on board to star in this year’s sequel.
We’ll bring you more as it develops.
