Margot Robbie No Longer Involved In Planned 'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN' Flick For Disney

A new female fronted Pirates of The Caribbean flick was announced back in 2020 with Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie set to play the lead but as most things go in Hollywood and for Disney, things have changed.

Margot Robbie tells Vanity Fair this week, the project is no longer setting sail.

“We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led—not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story—which we thought would’ve been really cool,” Robbie explained to Vanity Fair. “But I guess they don’t want to do it.”

When it was announced back in 2020, the Margot Robbie-led Pirates movie was said to be a “wholly original story with new characters,” rather than a spinoff/sequel to the franchise.

We had also heard there were going to be a few more Pirates films in development but nothing has been cemented as of yet so stay here for your Pirates updates ya bloomin bildgerats!
