MICHAEL KEATON Talks About "BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE" In People Interview
One of the most anticipated releases of 2024 is also one of the most unexpected. That’s right, we’re talking about the foul-mouthed fiend who haunts your local model graveyard, Beetlejuice. While it all still feels like a big prank being collectively played on all of us, the news continues to pour out about the progress this film is making giving us more hope not only that it will arrive, but that it will be this year. Ahead of the release, People Magazine sat down to speak with star Michael Keaton about the film and the reservations going into it.
Sourced from reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, the interview goes into length about how Keaton prefers working with other actors rather than in front of green screens, as well as his desire to retain the practical effects that made the original film such a hit. Keaton says, “We thought, ‘You got to get this right. Otherwise, just don’t do it. Let’s just go on with our lives and do other things.’ So I was hesitant and cautious, and [Burton] was probably equally as hesitant and cautious over all these years,” he told the publication. “Once we got there, I said, ’OK, let’s just go for it. Let’s just see if we can do it, if we can pull this off.'”
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Is slated for release September 6, 2024.
