Following on from the successful Wolf Creek and Wolf Creek 2 films, as well as two entries in the Wolf Creek miniseries, John Jarratt will be reprising his role as the infamous Mick Taylor in an all-new installment in the franchise.

The third film will be the first in the franchise not to be written or directed by Greg McLean. Instead, Rachele Wiggins and Duncan Samarasinghe will take up the mantle of director and writer respectfully.

Greg McLean will still be involved, producing through his Emu Creek Pictures banner, alongside Bianca Martino (“The Darkness”) and Kristian Moliere (“The Babadook”).

Talking about the film, Greg McLean said: “Serial killing pig shooter Mick Taylor — portrayed by the iconic Australian actor John Jarratt — will once more terrorize the Outback. And we couldn’t be more excited about the creative team we’ve assembled to realize the next chilling chapter in the Wolf Creek franchise. Duncan’s compelling, suspense-filled script combined with Rachele’s exciting directorial vision for the film will deliver a horror roller-coaster ride sure to delight genre fans around the world.”

Slated for a 2022 release, Wolf Creek 3 will see an American family taking a dream trip to the Australian outback and soon draws the attention of notorious serial killer Mick Taylor. A hellish nightmare ensues as the couple’s two children escape only to be hunted down by Australia’s most infamous killer.

Production on Wolf Creek 3 commences later this year in South Australia.
