“MOM” (2024) Is A Parents Supernatural Worst Nightmare (TRAILER)

 

Horror movies with strong female leads and great hauntings are the perfect recipe for a sleepless night. It could be any type of storyline whether she’s battling ghosts, curses, or her sanity. These strong heroines often carry the weight of these types of horror movies on their shoulders. Movies like “The Babadook” to the haunting fan favorite “The Others” draw in audiences who love watching women outsmart spirits and wrestle with the supernatural. They do this all while delivering some of the best iconic horror moments and giving side-eyeing skeptics some spine-tingling moments while they enjoy what is on the silver screen. Horror fans love this because nothing says “relatable” like confronting your inner demons and actual real-life demons before the third act. After all, who better to face down the unholy than someone who’s already survived the craziness of a horror movie?

Recently the ghoulish-loving horror fans that we are at Macabre Daily got news of a brand-new horror movie that will be arriving soon. Here is what we learned about this great upcoming horror movie:

Uncork’d Entertainment will release the postpartum horror “MOM” in select theaters beginning February 7th before arriving on digital/VOD platforms on February 11th.

Starring Emily Hampshire, known for her acclaimed role in “Schitt's Creek”, “MOM” made its world premiere at Glasgow FrightFest in 2024, receiving praise for its haunting exploration of motherhood and psychological trauma. The synopsis for this movie is as follows:

“MOM” follows a struggling mother (Hampshire) who is abandoned by her family and partner after a horrific incident. As she falls further into isolation, she begins to be haunted by a sinister entity that is determined to make her relive her darkest moments. Delving into the darker side of motherhood, Mom is an intelligent and original take on the family-based horror story.

Directed by Adam O’Brien and written by Philip Kalin-Hajdu“MOM” also stars François Arnaud (“Marlowe”) and Christian Convery (“Cocaine Bear”). Producing are Delirium Pictures and Kinetic Film Group.
