Musical-Horror Flick "ART OF A HIT" Gets Picked Up!
Horror has always had a chameleon-like quality to blend in with whatever genres it is around, which often means that horror is more broad in its coverage and diversity. One genre that doesn’t mix too often with horror is the musical. Films like Anna and the Apocalypse or Rocky Horror Picture Show may be the exceptions that prove that point, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a desire to have more crossovers between the terrifying and the theatrical. There may be another film to cross that genre divide, and Variety has the exclusive on it!
“Art of a Hit” has just been picked up by Giant Pictures, who also spearheads Drafthouse Films and Tribeca Films, for North American distribution. The synopsis of the film from Variety is as follows:
“Set for streaming release in the fall, ‘Art of a Hit’ follows a ’90s rock band frontman grappling with irrelevance. An eccentric producer invites the band to his French chateau to record, where they encounter unexpected challenges.”
The film will feature music from Jets to Brazil and will combine horror, comedy, and music in what seems to be a strange, but intriguing premise. We don’t have all the details, but you can read more over at Variety’s site and we hope to bring you more coverage as the film gets closer to a streaming release later this year!
