Netflix Renews "BLACK MIRROR" For A Seventh Season
We were just given five terror inducing shorts with Black Mirror season 6 that premiered a few months back and now Netflix has announced a seventh season today that we have learned from our friends at Variety.
The website reports, “No casting has been confirmed yet for Season 7 but Variety understands the show is set to go into production later this year with Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhodes believed to be returning as executive producers.
“Plot details and number of episodes are still being kept under wraps.”
“Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.
The hit series premiered in 2011, a sort of “Twilight Zone” for the modern day.
The Season 6 cast included Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin, and Zazie Beetz.
