New 'DEADPOOL 3' Image Shows Hugh Jackman In Classic Wolverine Costume

It’s finally happening! This morning, Ryan Reynolds shared a first look image from Deadpool 3 and boy is it a doozy. For years fans have been wanting Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine and in Deadpool 3, they’re getting him in spades.

The last time Jackman portrayed Wolverine was of course for Logan in 2017 so it’s been a while since we’ve seen those claws pop.

Reynolds has taken to social media to share the above first look image this morning, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine side-by-side. It’s a still from the upcoming Deadpool 3, and the most notable thing about the image is that it features Jackman fully suited up in the classic yellow/black Wolverine costume that fans have been dying to see him step inside of.

Last we heard, Marvel Studios had hired sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to write Deadpool 3, with Shawn Levy (Free Guy) on board to direct.

The future of the franchise was unclear in the wake of Disney acquiring Fox, where the previous two movies had been made. Deadpool is now *officially* a Marvel Studios property.

Deadpool 3 is set for a May 3, 2024 release.
