The Original "SPEAK NO EVIL" Is Coming Home On Blu-Ray This December
European horror just hits differently. Maybe it is the generations of history or the better food regulations that make genre films from Europe so interesting. Obviously, as a US-based site with predominantly US staff, we are biased, but the exposure to world genre cinema that has been ushered in by the streaming era has certainly broken down barriers of access that folks have to films outside their home country. Fascination with European genre cinema isn’t new, and some prefer it in most cases over American and other variations, but we aren’t here to place judgment or play favorites. One film that has sent shockwaves throughout the horror community is the 2022 Danish film, “Speak No Evil.”
The film recently got the remake treatment from Universal and Blumhouse, and now the original film is getting a physical media release thanks to the folks over at Acorn Media on December 2nd. Check out the press release details below for more, and we hope to bring you additional information and possibly a review in the future!
‘One of the most controversial horror films of recent times… fully earns its fearsome reputation... what makes this so effective isn't just the violence, but the sense that we're complicit through our own moral cowardice’

From The Press Release
Hailed as ‘Sundance’s most shocking feature’ by Dread Central and as ‘the most amazing thing I have seen in I don’t know how long... It’s crazy and it’s crazy good’ by The Guardian; the original Speak No Evil garnered praise and awards galore on its release in 2022, and now this unnerving, dread-inducing and unrelentingly gripping social satire of a chiller gets its home release this winter.
With the 2024 remake currently thrilling and chilling in UK cinemas, Acorn Media International is pleased to announce that the release of the original Danish horror from Christian Tafdrup is set for its Blu-ray, DVD and digital release on 2 December.
