The Twisted Family Returns in Brand New 'SPIDER BABY' Remake Trailer

Even a film as weird and obscure as Jack Hill’s 1967 cult classic horror movie Spider Baby is not immune to the remake train taking over horror as of late. The remake is being directed by Dustin Ferguson (Cocaine Cougar, Mega Ape), and we’ve got the new trailer today.

“The new film promises to reimagine the beloved cult film – which starred Sid Haig and Lon Chaney Jr. – for a new generation of horror enthusiasts.”

The film is now in post-production, with a premiere planned for this October in L.A.

The original film’s director, Jack Hill, served as the Executive Producer for this brand new project, which is said to “ensure a respectful homage to the 1967 cult classic.”

Beverly Washburn, a notable presence from the original Spider Baby as “Elizabeth,” returns to the film in a new role. Also joining the cast is Ron Chaney, the grandson of the legendary Lon Chaney Jr. His appearance in the film pays tribute to the Chaney family’s profound legacy in the horror genre, and his grandfather’s involvement in the original movie.

Additionally, the film features Brinke Stevens, best known for her role in 1982’s Slumber Party Massacre, as well as Robert Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses).

Adding to the creative team for the Spider Baby remake is Jeff Burr, known for his work on Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, who served as the Creative Consultant.
